Refugio de las luces es una instalación efímera que transforma la Biblioteca Xenius en un espacio de recogimiento desde donde las ideas que reposan en las estanterías alumbran la posibilidad de transfigurar el drama actual.
La artista cita al espectador en la sala después del anochecer, puesto que el efecto de la obra se vislumbra en la oscuridad. Al activar la instalación, se iluminan los casi quinientos huecos cubiertos de papel de colores que componen las puertas acristaladas de las librerías. La luz artificial rebota en los libros y atraviesa las vitrinas, convertidas en vidrieras. El sutil resplandor coloreado se proyecta en el suelo, en las paredes y en los espectadores como un halo que remite al imaginario de las catedrales. La densidad acumulativa de libros se libera, sale de su encierro y se queda en otro espacio más amplio. Los bloques lumínicos y cromáticos determinan la levedad de la imagen desmaterializada que proyectan. Este territorio de luz y color pretende la inmersión emocional del visitante en la experiencia conceptual de la artista.

Refugio de las luces [Refuge of Lights] is an ephemeral installation that transforms the Xenius Library into a space of quiet recollection where the ideas resting on the shelves shine forth, holding out the possibility of transfiguring our current drama.
The artist convenes spectators in the room after nightfall, for the effect of the work can only be appreciated in darkness. When the installation is activated, the nearly five hundred holes filled with coloured acetate that form the bookcases’ glass doors light up. The artificial radiance bounces off the books and passes through the vitrines, which become stained-glass windows. The subtle, multi-coloured glow falls on the floor, the walls and the viewers, like a halo recalling the imagery of the cathedrals. The cumulative density of books breaks free, emerges from its prison and remains in another, larger space. The luminous and chromatic blocks determine the delicacy of the dematerialized image they project. This realm of light and colour aims to emotionally immerse visitors in the artist’s conceptual experience.
